Calvin Blackburn III entered an Of Counsel relationship with Barrett and Farahany as of January, 2019. Calvin's broad experience as an employment lawyer gives him a unique approach to resolving employment matters. Prior to joining Barrett & Farahany, Calvin defended employers while working at national law firms in Alabama and Georgia. Later, he served as general counsel and vice president of human resources for a mid-sized Georgia manufacturing company. Recently, Calvin managed a solo practice in Atlanta where he represented both employees and employers. In addition, Calvin has worked as a Hearing Officer for the Jefferson County (Alabama) Personnel Board and the Alabama Department of Transportation. Presently, Calvin also serves as the attorney for the Fulton County Personnel Board.
In Calvin's Of Counsel role at Barrett & Farahany, he represents employees exclusively in matters related to Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other employment-related state and federal statutes. Calvin is admitted to the state courts of Alabama and Georgia, as well as to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He earned an A. B. from Dartmouth College and a J. D. from Vanderbilt Law School.
