Briana Barnett focuses her practice on representing workers in employment law matters. Drawing on her background in employment, healthcare regulatory compliance, and complex litigation, she is committed to advocating for employees navigating challenging workplace issues and helping them understand their rights under the law.
Before joining Barrett & Farahany, Briana worked in both litigation and regulatory compliance roles. She previously practiced at a national law firm where she worked on commercial, appellate, consumer, and employment law matters, drafting legal memoranda and assisting with federal hearings and depositions. She also served as a Health and Welfare Benefits Compliance Consultant, where she advised employers on compliance with federal laws, including ERISA, MHPAEA, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the ACA, and HIPAA. Earlier in her career, Briana gained experience as a summer clerk in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, where she assisted with drafting orders on motions for summary judgment and remand.
Briana earned her law degree from the University of Georgia, where she was awarded the Order of the Barristers in recognition of her oral advocacy and served as Executive Managing Editor of the Georgia Law Review. She was an active member of the UGA Law Moot Court Program, serving as Co-Executive Chair, and participated in the Clarke-Carley Inn of Court. She also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Law & Medicine. Briana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Agnes Scott College.
When she is not practicing law, Briana enjoys playing jazz and contemporary piano, writing poetry, traveling, and keeping up with her two chaotic Siamese cats, Hylia and Alcaro.
