Andrew Newell is an Associate Attorney at Barrett & Farahany. He graduated from the Emory University School of Law in 2026 with a J.D. degree, with a concentration in Law and Religion.
Prior to law school, Andrew worked in the non-profit sector in the US and internationally, spending four years between China and Tajikistan while pursuing a Masters in Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service. His worked focused on community development and humanitarian aid, which served as the inspiration to return to law school and a career of justice-oriented legal advocacy.
While studying at Emory Law, Andrew participated in the International Humanitarian Law Clinic, serving NATO Command as his client, along with multiple internships in Asylum Law and Impact Litigation. Andrew also was a part of the Journal of Law and Religion and participated in the Law and Religion Moot Court team, earning the award for Best Oral Argument in the International Law and Religion Moot Court competition at St. John’s University in Rome, Italy.
When Andrew is not practicing law, you can find him on the trail running or cycling, somewhere outside with his wife and kids, cooking, or paddling on a river somewhere in Georgia.
