Niki earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, graduating summa cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, she externed for the Honorable Judge John Robert Blakey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and interned with the ACLU of Illinois, where she worked on prisoners’ rights litigation.

Niki also worked as a student attorney in the First Amendment Clinic, representing clients whose free speech rights had been restricted. Niki was an active member of the Moot Court and Trial Teams and served as Managing Notes Editor of the Illinois Law Review. Her Note, You’re Not Alone: Reconceptualizing Solitary Confinement from the Default Punishment to a Last Resort by Focusing on Mental Health, was published in the Illinois Law Review.

Before law school, Niki graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science and minors in Spanish and Law & Public Policy. During college, Niki worked as a legal assistant at Ken Nunn Law Firm and as a legal intern at Indiana Legal Services.

Outside of work, Niki enjoys experimenting with new recipes, playing tennis, and hosting board game nights with friends.
