Federal Jury Awards $3M in Punitive Damages Over Rescinded Job Offer to Black Applicant

A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia handed down a $3.4 million verdict Oct. 19, finding global trucking company Dimerco Express USA Corp. racially discriminated against the plaintiff in its hiring process.

The jury awarded $3 million in punitive damages, $300,000 for emotional distress and $90,000 in lost wages to plaintiff Kenny Faulk, finding Dimerco intentionally refused to hire Faulk due to the color of his skin.

Faulk was represented by a team at Barrett & Farahany.
