Unfortunately, here in North Carolina, the protections for the LGBTQ community are pretty much limited to Title 7.
We don’t have any specific state law that would protect that community.
And I am struggling to think of a place where the state of North Carolina has articulated and clear language any public policy in the form of a statute or constitutional provision that would give rights or give protection to the LGBTQ plus community.
So unfortunately, if you work for an employer with fewer than 15 employees, you are at some risk here in North Carolina.
