August 2021 – Why the ADA’s Guidance on Long COVID Is Significant
Even though the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has yet to address long (chronic) COVID and workers, recently issued Americans with Disabilities Act guidance could create opportunities for employees with long-hauler symptoms to seek accommodation. Grace also reviews steps employees might take to request accommodation under the new guidance, gives a few examples of applicable situations, and talks about how long COVID symptoms meet the ADA’s requirement that a disability limit a major life activity.
