Monica L. Garcia is a seasoned executive and attorney with a track record of success in leading complex legal organizations while maintaining a strong emphasis on client service. As Managing Partner, Monica brings a deep commitment to protecting employees’ rights along with her background of achieving and maintaining organizational excellence.
Recognized for her disciplined judgment and collaborative leadership style, Monica brings her expertise in law practice management and hands-on litigation experience to the role of Managing Partner, where her primary focus is to ensure that client outcomes, legal strategy, and the firm’s operations are aligned.
Prior to joining Barrett & Farahany, Monica most recently served as Associate General Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board, where she provided leadership on governance, professional responsibility, and institutional risk while managing a nationwide legal team delivering timely, practical, and client-focused solutions. Previously, Monica served as Principal Deputy Director for the Departmental Ethics Office at the U.S. Department of the Interior, where she oversaw a nationwide legal operation for more than 60,000 personnel across multiple agencies. In that role, she improved service delivery by modernizing workflows, implementing performance metrics, and significantly reducing turnaround times for complex legal work—ensuring clients received timely and accurate guidance when it mattered most.
She also brings substantial employment litigation experience from her tenure as an in-house litigator at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and an associate Buckley & Klein, LLP, where she represented individual employees at all phases of litigation, from administrative tribunals, to state, federal, and appellate courts.
Monica earned her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law as an AnBryce Scholar and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida.
When she is not practicing law, Monica enjoys spending time with her children, cooking, and playing sports. She is an avid softball and pickleball player, as well as an enthusiastic beginner rock climber.
