Barrett & Farahany is proud to announce that two of its attorneys, Amanda Farahany and Severin Roberts, have been included in the 2022 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. This is the fifth year Amanda has been awarded the Best Lawyer distinction, and the third for Severin.
Amanda, managing partner of Barrett & Farahany, was awarded the 2022 distinction for her excellence in Employment Law – Individuals as well as in Litigation – Labor and Employment. Severin, who is a partner and serves as head of the firm’s Wage and Hour group, was recognized in the Litigation – Labor and Employment area.
In 2019, Amanda was named Lawyer of the Year – Employment Law for Individuals by the publication. Lawyer of the Year is awarded to the attorney in a specific practice area and geographic region with the highest overall peer-review feedback. Amanda has received numerous other accolades and awards for her labor and employment work, including being named a Georgia Super Lawyer for the past eight consecutive years, one of the Top 50 Women in Georgia by Super Lawyers, and a National Advocates’ Top 100 lawyer.
Both Amanda and Severin are known to tirelessly seek justice at work for their clients. Amanda has a reputation for taking and winning challenging cases, and at the same time working to change laws on behalf of other employees facing similar hardships. Her successes include a $2.25 million verdict awarded in 2015 in the first Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act case. In addition to a focus in wage and hours cases, including Fair Labor Standards Act and large collective claims, Severin represents clients in traditional employment matters ranging from harassment and discrimination to Family and Medical Leave Act lawsuits.
