Transcript Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects workers from discrimination in the workplace. It protects workers from a variety of discrimination like race discrimination, sex discrimination, national origin discrimination and religious discrimination. Employees who report discrimination based on race, sex, religion or national origin also have the right to be free from retaliation. That means that they can't be demoted or retaliated against by firing if they report to their employers that they have been the victim of discrimination. It's important that you understand that Title VII only protects workers from the discrimination that has occurred in the last six months.
