A tireless champion of employment law and labor rights, Jewel shines as a beacon of dedication in the legal sphere. Jewel has had several years of experience litigating labor & employment cases with an emphasis in negotiation, mediation, and trial. Before joining B&F, Jewel represented the Department of Veteran Affairs, the largest hospital system in the United States of America and the City of New York in its Tort Division Unit, saving taxpayers millions of dollars over the course of many years.
Prior to completing law school Jewel earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting at Brooklyn College City University of New York. Jewel’s passion for justice at work blossomed as a member of Hofstra’s Labor & Employment Journal. Jewel authored a note researching and drafting several solutions that could protect H-2A temporary agricultural worker and J-1 au pair visa holders from the multiple harms they suffer at work. During law school Jewel was a Moot Court member and represented her school in a cutting edge employment issue. Since then Jewel has both coached a Moot Court team and remains a mentor for the Black Law Students Association.
Jewel was part of an advocacy team at Hofstra Law & Advocacy Clinic where she honed her trial skills and helped win her client a multi-million-dollar suit against the City of New York. Thereafter, Jewel won her first solo trial on directed verdict.
Originally from New York, she and her family have happily relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Beyond her legal laurels, Jewel is a trailblazer in her own right. As a first – generation American she proudly leads the way as her family’s foremost attorney. She is also the mother of a brilliant toddler, a yoga practitioner, and a RYS (Registered Yoga School) certified instructor who enjoys beach destinations.
